While we were on tour in Detroit, we got to talk to Tyree of the Heidelberg Project. We asked him how he was doing as he was weed whacking and he said “I’m great. My heart is beating, and I’m making art.” We walked around for a bit after that and he stopped us on the way to the car and introduced himself. He said this and it stuck out to me. “I had an art teacher once who said that it takes 10 years to get truly good at anything. Well, I’ve been at this for 31 years. I think I’m ready to do something.” Thankful for a great tour in michigan and for people like Tyree who commit their lives to making the world around them beautiful. Can’t wait to get back soon.
